You can meet lovely people just strolling the streets or join to an event, organized nearly every weekend. Movie geeks can look behind the scenes of moviemaking in Korda Film Park, reveal some filmmaking tricks during our studio tour also.

So, let's enjoy the fascinating landscape, the mild hills, the tidy rows of vine in Etyek with us!

Located between the two mountains of Velence and Buda, EtyekBuda Wine Region covers an area of 5600 hectares but the vine plantation is about 1600 hectares nowdays. Vine growing and winemaking has always been the most important field of activity in the region since the 11th century. The development of wine culture has been influenced by various nationalities settling in the region. They brought their own winemaking tradition, planted different grape varieties. It is one of the reasons why wineries offer such a diversified portfolio here.

The temperature is cooler than the average in the county, and there is a constant wind. Mostly white wines of high acidity are made here applying champagne method, sparkling wines and light, fresh wines in stainless steel barrels. The soil is limestone based, reach in minerals, covered by brown forest soils, suitable to grow white grape varietals like Olaszrizling, Chardonnay, Rhine Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Grüner Veltliner, and Sauvignon Blanc. Both the fresh, vigorous, aromatic wines, and the more complex ones – making in small and large oak barrels using the old tradition –, are extremely popular among wine lovers. Some reds are made here, particularly Portugieser, Kadarka and Pinot Noir. Besides Törley – accounts for 70 percent of Hungary’s sparkling wine production –, there are some bigger and a lot of smaller wineries, mostly small family ones making handcrafted sparkling wines.

Etyek “the vineyard of Budapest” mostly makes fresh, crispy white and sparkling wines. There are a lot of boutique wineries, only 1515 hectars. We will visit one of them, and among other 56 wines we will taste handcrafted sparkling wine as well. We will stroll among the stunning vineyards of the region, enjoy the fascinating landscape, the mild hills, the tidy rows of vine. This area has great potential, because only 30% of the fields are planted.
